Eruvin Daf Che - Vision and Act

By: Rabbi Lior Lavie

The world of spirit and the world of action require different skills.
One - requires openness, gentleness, listening. And the other - practicality, toughness, heroism.
The Gemara says: What is said "and you bound a sign by your hand and were dripping between your eyes" (Deuteronomy 6: 8) "by your hand" - "this is the burial of the place of the muscle in the hand".
"Between your eyes" - "This is a vertex".

And they asked: Where is the exact place in the vertex?

It was said from R. Yanai's beit midrash: "This is a place where the mind of a (soft) baby is loose" in its early days, it is the place where tefillin should be placed.
Hand tefillin placed on the muscle - an expression of the fact that practicality requires strength, power.
Head tefillin, on the other hand, is placed on the soft spot on the baby's head.
An expression of the fact that there is always something to learn, where to strive and develop.
"Hand and head. Vision and deed."
